Susada Syn

Susada Syn was a Tallarn-born Imperial Army officer who became Governor-Militant after Dellasarius's assassination, a local who inherited a virus-killed world and an argument with Horus that had already been paid in cities. She was the government when the government was a bunker and a radio.

She surveyed the Khedive with Kalikgol and Gorn, trying to turn tank-kills into a map a governor could still use. Syn's war was administration under poison: rations, axes of advance, and the refusal to let off-world saviours own the planet's remaining name.

Missing is the usual Tallarn afterword. The Army still had a Governor-Militant on the books. The desert does not confirm terms of office. She held the title when holding it was the whole job, and that is more than most off-world staff managed.
