Morvenn Vahl is Abbess of the Adepta Sororitas and a High Lord of Terra, a Celestian of the Argent Shroud who was promoted to be a pawn and declined the role. The Ecclesiarchy wanted an inexperienced figurehead. They got a commander who wears full plate to Synod meetings.
She took the office after prayer, went to Terra only long enough to start issuing military orders, and then led the relief of Ophelia VII in person, returning with a Chaos Lord's head when the other High Lords had sent too little help. Guilliman made her a High Lord. She treated it as another warrant to deploy.
The Lance of Illumination was a Custodes gift. Purgator Mirabilis is the warsuit she fights in. The Abbess is still a soldier. That is the point of her.
