Fenris Incident

The Fenris Incident is a conflict of the 41st Millennium on Fenris, homeworld of the Space Wolves, associated with Magnus the Red and the Wulfen. It is recorded as an episode in which the Thousand Sons, the Traitor Legion led by Magnus, turned their attention to the icebound world of the Sixth Legion’s descendants. The enmity between the two forces dates to the Horus Heresy and the Burning of Prospero, and the incident is generally understood as a late renewal of that quarrel rather than an isolated raid. The Space Wolves, whose fortress-monastery the Fang stands on Fenris, are the defending party, and the Wulfen, the feral warriors associated with the Chapter’s gene-seed, form part of the wider setting in which the events are situated. Magnus is the principal figure on the attacking side. Accounts differ on the size of the forces engaged, the sequence of landings and the individual commanders involved, and this entry does not assign detail that the established record does not support. Fenris remains the recruiting world and seat of the Space Wolves, and the incident reinforces the standing hostility between them and the Thousand Sons that first took shape in the 31st Millennium.
