Grimnir Blackblood was a huscarl of Leman Russ's Einherjar, a Fenrisian who fought the Alaxxes ambush and the butchery at Trisolian and still had enough shoulder left to help drag the Wolf King when Russ could no longer stand. He was the kind of Wolf who treated a primarch as a packmate with worse manners.
Alaxxes should have killed the fleet. Trisolian should have killed the primarch. Blackblood was in both arguments, hauling Russ out of the ruin rather than writing a saga about how the saga ended. Huscarls do not get ballads for carrying.
He survived. That is the whole second life of an Einherjar: not glory, just the refusal to leave the King on the ice. Fenris does not record a death-date. The Rout rarely advertises who made it home with the wounded.
