Kasper Ansbach Hawser

Kasper Ansbach Hawser was a Terran conservator who vanished in old age and resurfaced as a skjald of the Space Wolves under the name Ahmad Ibn Rustah. He thought he was recording the Rout. He was a parcel. The Thousand Sons had built a spy who did not know he was a spy, and the Wolves had adopted him because a storyteller is useful until he is a door.

At Nikaea, Amon Tauromachian and others tried to explain the trick. A daemon wearing the other Amon made the explanation worse. Hawser still walked Prospero with the Rout, still told the saga, still believed the work was history rather than a targeting rune.

Fenris keeps him in the sagas as a skjald. Terra keeps him as a caution about conservators who accept a second life. He wanted to be a witness. Two Legions used him as a lens. The lens does not get to choose the picture.
