Ogvai Ogvai Helmschrot

Ogvai Ogvai Helmschrot was Jarl of Tra, the Third company of the Space Wolves, and one of the first Fenrisians Russ raised into the Legion. He belonged to the Legion’s native Fenrisian intake, not to the Terran-born warriors who preceded it.

Helmschrot led the Third to Prospero, Alaxxes, Trisolian and Yarant. He remained in command through the reverses the Space Wolves sustained after Prospero, and he was still serving when the Legion required a jarl who remembered its earliest years. In accounts of the Horus Heresy he appears as a point of continuity between that first generation and the later war.

Aeska Brokenlip succeeded him as jarl of the Third. The record of Helmschrot’s final service contains no account of his death, only the transfer of command, which Fenrisian custom treats as nearly equivalent. His standing as the company’s first jarl became the measure against which his successor was judged.
