Ana Curth

Ana Curth is an Imperial Guard medicae who served with the Tanith First-and-Only regiment and later became its chief medicae. She held the rank of medicae captain within the regiment’s small support cadre, part of the Astra Militarum forces committed to the Sabbat Worlds Crusade. Her duties centred on frontline surgery and the management of the regiment’s limited medical resources across a long sequence of campaigns.

Curth is recorded as having served for much of her career as a subordinate to Tolin Dorden, the regiment’s longstanding chief medicae, treating the wounded of the Tanith First-and-Only through numerous engagements of the Crusade. Accounts of the regiment’s history also describe a close personal bond that developed between Curth and its commanding officer, Ibram Gaunt, over the course of their shared service. Following Dorden’s death, Curth assumed his former role as chief medicae, taking on responsibility for the regiment’s medical service in his stead.

Within the chronicle of the Tanith First-and-Only, Curth is significant chiefly as the figure who preserved continuity of the regiment’s medical corps after the loss of its founding chief medicae. Her position placed her among the small number of non-combatant specialists whose sustained presence across the regiment’s campaigns is treated as integral to its cohesion, standing as one of the Ghosts’ longest-serving officers of any branch.
