Brostin

Brostin is a trooper of the Tanith First-and-Only regiment of the Astra Militarum, recorded as its flamer specialist in the Gaunt’s Ghosts narrative. He is counted among the survivors of Tanith, destroyed shortly after the raising of its regiment, and he serves thereafter as one of the enlisted rank-and-file who accompany Colonel-Commissar Ibram Gaunt across the regiment’s campaigns.

Within the regiment, Brostin holds the flamer as his assigned weapon. He is described as a large, heavily built soldier, and later tradition within the narrative associates him with a taste for improvised and often illicit intoxicants, a trait noted alongside his soldierly reliability rather than in place of it.

Brostin’s standing rests on his function as one of the Tanith First-and-Only’s enduring rank-and-file troopers. He holds no higher rank or command role in the accounts in which he appears.
