Caffran

Caffran is a trooper of the Tanith First-and-Only regiment of the Astra Militarum, notable for his enduring partnership with Tona Criid. He is a native of Tanith, an Imperial world rendered uninhabitable at the time the regiment now bearing its name was raised, and he serves within the Ghosts as one of a number of ordinary line infantrymen whose personal histories recur throughout the regiment’s chronicled campaigns.

Within the narrative of the Tanith First’s service, Caffran is recorded as forming a close bond with Tona Criid, a trooper who joined the regiment’s ranks during operations connected to the hive world Verghast, and specifically its principal settlement, Vervunhive. Together, Caffran and Criid assume responsibility for two children orphaned amid the fighting on Verghast, an arrangement that persists as the regiment continues its campaigning across the Sabbat Worlds and beyond.
