Eikos Lamiad

Eikos Lamiad was Tetrarch of Konor and champion to Guilliman, one of four lords who governed Ultramar during the primarch’s absence. Ultramar, the realm of the Five Hundred Worlds, was administered through these Tetrarchs when Guilliman was elsewhere. Lamiad was also styled the Iron Warden of Konor.

Before the Word Bearers’ attack on Calth, Lamiad introduced Ventanus to the world’s seneschals at a meeting intended to concern logistics. When the Word Bearers arrived, he brought the Neride 51st into Lanshear together with the Titans of Nicodemus, in sufficient strength to allow Tawren to retake the grid. Lamiad was gravely wounded in the fighting and was rebuilt with bionic replacements. He kept his title and was still expected to hold a forge-moon afterwards.

Konor had sought forge-world status; what it received instead was a Tetrarch severely injured in the war. Lamiad remained Guilliman’s champion because the office survived his wounds. His career reflects the practice in Ultramar of retaining officials who continue to serve after the disruption of Calth, a conflict that showed the Five Hundred Worlds could be gravely damaged within a single day.
