Corswain was Paladin of the Ninth Order, the Lion's seneschal, and the Calibanite swordsman other Legions filed next to Sigismund and Raldoron. He was not born of the Order. That was the point. The Lion used him as a bridge between Terran veterans and forest knights, then as the blade that could be sent anywhere without a Host arguing over precedence.
On Tsagualsa he could not save Alajos from Sevatar, so he put a sword through Konrad Curze's spine while the Night Haunter strangled his primarch. He later commanded half the Dark Angels, held the Astronomican through the Siege, and walked Terra's rubble as the Lion's emissary when the traitors fled.
The Ravenwing still prize a blade with his name. Caliban does not get to keep him. The Hound of Caliban outlived the world that named him, which is the kind of victory the First Legion prefers not to discuss.
