Koparnos

Koparnos was an Iron Warriors Warsmith who crawled out of the wreck of the Eagle's Talon over Tallarn and decided a crash was not the same thing as a surrender. Olympia makes that kind of officer: alive is a logistics state, not a blessing, and hulls are just another ore.

He hijacked the Ostentio Contritio and put an Imperial hull back into the war under IV Legion manners. That desert's corpse-stories are full of wrecks that keep moving. Koparnos was one who moved on purpose, with a captured bridge and a Warsmith's patience.

The Army lost a ship. Perturabo gained an officer who had already paid the entry fee in wreckage. After the hijack the name drops out of the tallies, which on Tallarn often means the dust finished the sentence.
