Volk

Volk was captain of the Iron Warriors 786th Grand Flight, an Olympian void-fighter and friend of Argonis who went to Sarum and came back as something the IV Legion had not had a word for yet. The daemon Sa'ra'am wore him. The first Obliterator was the result.

He fought Tallarn and Krade as a Warsmith's problem with wings, then brought that infection to the Lion's Gate as virus and flesh in the same hull. Volk stopped being a pilot the moment Sarum finished with him, and the Grand Flight learned a new kind of casualty.

Daemon is the honest status. The 786th lost an officer. The Obliterator cult gained a prototype. Terra felt the virus at the Gate; Olympia would not have recognised the friend Argonis remembered, which is the point of possession and the bill for Sarum.
