Iacton Qruze

Iacton Qruze, called the Half-heard, was a veteran Luna Wolves captain who remained loyal and later served as a Knight-Errant. He was an older officer whom the Legion, in its new form as the Sons of Horus, had already begun to talk over.

Qruze removed Keeler, Oliton and Sindermann from the *Vengeful Spirit* and travelled with Garro aboard the *Eisenstein*, on the understanding that a warning still had to reach Terra. Malcador, the Sigillite, subsequently admitted him to the Knights-Errant, who wore grey armour. Qruze was one of the Seventy and one of the first Knights-Errant. A Cthonian of long service, he carried out the Sigillite’s covert killings while younger captains pursued renown. He died at the hands of Tormageddon, a daemon manifested in a Sons of Horus body from the stolen gene-seed of Tarik Torgaddon.

Qruze’s counsel went largely unheeded throughout his career, and he was killed by a daemon wearing the form of his own Legion. His fate reflects the wider course of the Sixteenth Legion. His warning nonetheless reached Terra.
