Hastur Sejanus

Hastur Sejanus was captain of the Luna Wolves Fourth Company and a member of the Mournival, the circle of counsellors around Horus. Horus held him in genuine regard, and Sejanus was valued within the circle as a reasonable and measured voice.

Sejanus died at Sixty-Three Nineteen, in the spearhead of the war against the False Emperor. Abaddon, Aximand, Torgaddon and Loken carried on the Mournival’s deliberations without him. His likeness was later put to use by Erebus, who wore Sejanus’s face to gain entry to the moon of Davin and so began the wound that made a Warmaster. His remains were displayed on a wall, and his identity was then used as a means of access.

Other Legions rarely described captains from Cthonia as decent, and Sejanus was an exception. Horus mourned him publicly, and the forces of Chaos found his likeness useful for the same reason. The Mournival did not recover its earlier habit of listening once the borrowed face had served its purpose. The Fourth Company kept its number after his death, but not its captain.
