Tarik Torgaddon

Tarik Torgaddon was a Cthonian captain of the Luna Wolves Second Company and a member of the Mournival, Horus Lupercal’s inner council of officers. Alongside Ezekyle Abaddon, Horus Aximand, and Garviel Loken, he sat among the four officers charged with tempering the Warmaster’s counsel outside the strict Legion command chain. Within that circle Torgaddon was known for humour rather than severity, using it to steady debate among colleagues who were often closer to him than blood kin, and his friendship with Loken in particular is recorded as one of the Mournival’s defining bonds.

When Horus turned against the Emperor, Torgaddon refused to follow him, holding to his oath as the Legion fractured around him. That refusal placed him against officers he had long called brother, including Aximand, and set the terms of his death during the purge that followed on Isstvan III, where loyalist Legion elements were destroyed alongside allied forces drawn into the Warmaster’s trap.

Aximand killed Torgaddon personally during the Isstvan III purge, ending the life of a captain who had chosen loyalty over the Mournival’s bonds of friendship. Word Bearers ritualists are recorded as later using remains associated with him in the fashioning of the daemon Tormageddon, and a residual presence bearing that association is recorded as contacting Loken on Luna. Cthonia, Isstvan III, and Luna thus mark the full span of his attested career, and he is remembered as a loyalist Mournival captain rather than as an officer of the Sons of Horus into which his Legion was refashioned.
