Kenor Argonis

Kenor Argonis, called the Unscarred, was a Cthonian Son of Horus who succeeded Maloghurst as the Warmaster’s emissary. The office required a successor able to attend negotiations in person. Some records give his name as Kinor.

Argonis spoke for Horus at Tallarn, at Ullanor, and in the difficult diplomacy surrounding Sarum. He killed Ekaddon when the matter at issue called for a killing rather than a message. The epithet Unscarred began as a jest and lost its humour as the Warmaster’s Court became increasingly unsettled.

The records of the Horus Heresy do not give his file a clear conclusion. Argonis went where the Warmaster directed and returned with fewer illusions than scars. His career shows that Cthonia supplied the Warmaster with emissaries, and that an emissary did not necessarily remain the man who had set out.
