Alicia Dominica led the Brides of the Emperor into the Throne room, heard what the Emperor required, and cut Goge Vandire down in the name of a better tyranny. She founded the Adepta Sororitas as a military fact instead of a palace fashion, then raised the Order of the Ebon Chalice as her own household.
The other five Matriarchs were her companions on that walk. Dominica was the one who had to give the order after the revelation. The Palatine Crusade and a hundred later wars spent her until martyrdom caught up.
Every Sister who quotes the Oath of the Ebon Chalice is quoting a woman who killed her patron because the Throne asked. That is the founding miracle. It is also a warning.
