Saint Dominica
Founding Matriarch, Abbess of the Adepta Sororitas
Also known as Alicia Dominica
Homeworld: Ophelia VII
Saint Alicia Dominica founded the Adepta Sororitas and the Order of the Ebon Chalice after killing Goge Vandire. She established the Adepta Sororitas as a military body rather than a courtly one, and raised the Order of the Ebon Chalice as her own.
Dominica led the Brides of the Emperor into the Throne room, where she was told what the Emperor required. Five other Matriarchs accompanied her, but Dominica was the one who gave the order that followed the revelation. She then served in the Palatine Crusade and in some hundred later wars, until her martyrdom ended her service.
Every Sister who recites the Oath of the Ebon Chalice recites the words of a woman who killed her patron because the Throne required it. The act is the founding miracle of the Sisterhood; it also serves as a warning.
