Saint Lucia
Founding Matriarch
Also known as Lucia
Homeworld: Ophelia VII
Saint Lucia was a Matriarch who founded the Order of the Valorous Heart and was one of the six who stood before the Golden Throne. The Order is associated with endurance. According to the accounts of her life, she was captured and tortured over a long period, and she did not give her captors the cry they sought.
That silence became the doctrine of the Order, which treats pain as proof of resolve rather than as display. Her sisters cut a heart into their armour in memory of a Matriarch who regarded suffering as a duty to be discharged, not a subject for sermon.
Saint Lucia is dead. The Order of the Valorous Heart presents her death as an instruction rather than a loss. This keeps her example available as a source of purpose in later wars.
