Pasanius Lysane

Pasanius Lysane is a veteran sergeant of the 4th Company, notable for his immense physical size and his long service alongside Uriel Ventris. His exceptional physical proportions required armourers to make bespoke alterations to his equipment. On the world of Tarsis Ultra, a Tyranid—a predatory alien organism—inflicted injuries that resulted in the fitting of his bionic prosthetic arm.

Lysane followed Ventris aboard an alien hive ship, initiating a sequence of events that disrupted their standing in Ultramar. After Learchus reported both soldiers for leaving the company, they undertook an expiatory Death Oath that carried them into exile on Medrengard. During this ordeal, they faced trials involving Honsou and the group known as the Unfleshed. Following his return to Calth, Lysane organised a force designated the Firebrands and ceased to treat the Codex—the standard military doctrine—as universally applicable to every operational dilemma on that world.

Lysane remains Ventris’s oldest confidant, serving as the principal advisor whom Ventris consults prior to executing hazardous or unorthodox operations. His bionic limb endures as tangible evidence of the perils they have survived together, reflecting a partnership defined by practical judgment and mutual reliance.
