Marduk of Colchis climbed the Word Bearers the long way: Brotherhood knife-work, First Acolyte to Jarulek, then Dark Apostle of the 34th Host after a Necron lord finished his master in a tomb on Tanakreg. He left with the Nexus Arrangement and the Accursed Crozius, which is how promotions happen in that Legion.
The artefact could cage systems in warp storms. He used it, lost it, and still talked his way onto Sicarus's Dark Council. At the Boros Gate he let Grey Knights take Grand Apostle Ekodas, gutted Kor Phaeron's Brotherhood plot, and went home looking loyal to Erebus.
He summons daemons without the usual choir and sees too many futures at once. The Infidus Diabolus is his pulpit. The sermon is always that someone higher should fall.
