Raldoron

Raldoron was First Captain of the Blood Angels, Equerry to Sanguinius, and the quiet professional who ran a Legion while angels and butchers got the songs. He was chosen because he knew the hearts of the Ninth, not because he shone. Azkaellon had the Guard. Raldoron had the companies.

He held Signus when the Ragefire tried to eat the Legion, then Terra when the walls became a slaughterhouse. After the Vengeful Spirit he inherited a Chapter that had just watched its primarch die and its sons drink their own grief. Corswain and Bjorn found him too stunned to promise a vengeance crusade. He still spoke for Dorn's pursuit at the reconstruction council, then left.

The Codex made him first Chapter Master of the Blood Angels. The office was a tomb with a title. He kept it anyway, because someone had to teach a broken Legion how to be a Chapter without their angel.
