Scipio Vorolanus
Sergeant of the 2nd Company
Also known as Scipio Voranus, Sergeant Vorolanus
Homeworld: Macragge
Scipio Vorolanus is a sergeant of the Ultramarines 2nd Company and leads the Thunderbolts, a tactical squad used by Captain Sicarius for reconnaissance. Sicarius assigns it this work in place of scouts.
At Black Reach, Scipio deployed by drop pod and took part in a hunt through the caverns alongside Telion. He regarded the resulting victory with uncertainty, since he doubted that it justified the battle-brothers lost in winning it. On Espandor, he entered the city of Corinth disguised as an enemy, located the Corsair Queen Salombar, and held the company standard after Ancient Vandius lost an arm. Sicarius received the credit for the operation, while Scipio retained his misgivings. He also served on Damnos.
Scipio admires his captain but continues to record the casualties that the company’s campaigns produce. His outlook presents a more measured 2nd Company than its public image suggests.
