Gadriel

Valorem Gadriel is a sergeant of the Ultramarines Second who made captain's notice young, then had to learn that the lieutenant assigned over his squad was a Chapter legend with a century of missing time. He accused Titus when a daemon offered him the easy story. He also put the blade in when the story turned out to be a lie.

Kadaku, the hive, and Demerium were his education. Acheran had trusted him with a squad. Titus trusted him with the truth after the Lord of Change was ash. Gadriel stayed, which is the Ultramarine version of an apology.

After Trygg took Acheran and Chairon, Titus took the company again. Gadriel is still in the command orbit. Macragge likes sergeants who survive being wrong and then get back in the line.
