Vulkan

Vulkan is the Perpetual primarch of the Salamanders, a smith who lived among Nocturne's tribes instead of above them. He judged a world by whether its people could still be saved after the war passed through.

Konrad Curze captured him and killed him over and over during the Heresy. He came back each time, which only made the lesson crueler. After Terra he left a trail of artefacts rather than a throne, and the Chapter still looks for him in the fires.

He'stan carries the hunt in the 41st millennium. Nocturne still forges as if the primarch might walk in and inspect the work. For a Perpetual, missing is not the same as gone.
