Euphrati Keeler

Euphrati Keeler was a remembrancer imagist attached to the Luna Wolves, not a soldier, and the Lectitio Divinitatus made a saint of her whether she asked or not. She photographed a Crusade that still thought it was secular. Then she watched it grow fangs.

She walked off the Vengeful Spirit onto the Eisenstein, carried a forbidden faith through the flight from Isstvan, and arrived on Terra as living proof that the Emperor already had a church. Daemons flinched from her the way they flinch from conviction with a face.

The Imperium still prays in the shape she photographed. Status: saint, which is the bureaucracy's word for a civilian who would not put the camera down.
