Constantin Valdor was Captain-General of the Adeptus Custodes, the Emperor's spear when a problem had to end in the same room it started. He fought through Unification, the Webway War, and the Siege, and he was there when Horus died.
He named Abaddon Despoiler before the Long War had a name. After the Heresy he laid down the title and walked into the dark with a purpose he did not publish. The Custodes do not advertise absences.
Trajann Valoris holds the office now. Valdor's legend is the standard that office is still measured against. Whether the Apollonian Spear is still in his hand is not a public fact.
