Lord Solar Leontus

Arcadian Leontus is the current Lord Commander Solar, a Terran highborn who treats Segmentum Solar as a perimeter to be defended beyond its border. He rides the cyborg stallion Konstantin and keeps a court that includes tarot-readers and logisticians.

Leontus has prevailed in enough political disputes with admirals to prevent the title from being merely ceremonial. He cites Macharius as precedent for campaigning far from Terra. When Hive Fleet Leviathan advanced on Bastior, he used the Phalanx as his headquarters.

His conduct has required intervention and accommodation from others. Valoris has had to extract him from dangerous situations, and Guilliman has had to accept his interpretations of orders. The office’s formal remit is Segmentum Solar, but in practice Leontus operates wherever he can argue that the Throne is threatened, an argument he makes with considerable skill.
