The Nemean

The Nemean was a Blackshield, a Terran Dark Angel scarred in the Rangdan Xenocide who built the Dark Brotherhood a pirate-empire in the Pale Stars instead of picking a side. He wore Kithairon plate and a Calibanite flammbard, hid the ruin of his face under a hood, and treated both Horus and Terra as other people's war until the Alpha Legion made the Pale Stars expensive.

Garro came with a coded summons and a list of twenty names. The Nemean asked after the Lion, watched the Brotherhood, the hydra, and the loyalists collide on Optera, then took the teleport rather than die for a kingdom of leftovers. Officially he fell on Terra's walls. Unofficially a nameless Dark Angel later sat among Malcador's eight.

He may have become Epimetheus. He may have become a corpse. Blackshields prefer that kind of ending. The scarred master got a choice. He used it once.
