Sister-Commander Aleya

Knight-Centura, Sister-Commander

Also known as Tanau Aleya, Knight-Centura Aleya

Homeworld: Terra

Tanau Aleya is a Knight-Centura of the Sisters of Silence, a null who serves on Terra and appears in Chris Wraight’s Watchers novels. A null is an individual who cannot be detected through the warp, the psychic dimension. The Sisterhood returned to prominence when the Palace required hunters with that property. In the novels, Aleya is the counterpart of the character Valerian. The two are engaged in the same conflict, and she is marked by economy of speech and by the gravity of the news she brings.

The opening of the Great Rift made the Silent Sisterhood a practical necessity rather than a rumour. Aleya has acted against cults and sorcerers, and against the assumption that Terra was secure because the Ten Thousand guarded it. She does not engage in theological argument. Psykers lose their abilities in her presence.

Terra is her posting, and the Somnus citadel is the Sisterhood’s older house. Aleya treats both as ground to be cleared of threats. The Custodes have adapted to fighting alongside her, although their own aura is diminished beside hers.
