Sagittarus Malacque

Sagittarus Malacque is a Custodian Guard of the Adeptus Custodes remembered in accounts of the Siege of Terra’s defence of the Imperial Palace. He is counted among the golden legion that held the Imperial Palace against the Warmaster Horus’s forces, though the particulars of his service survive only as fragmentary attestation rather than a continuous biography, and much of his individual record is not preserved.

Accounts do not detail direct interactions between Malacque and the siege’s more fully recorded commanders, such as Trajann Valoris or Diocletian Coros; his contemporaries are best understood as the wider companies of Custodian Guards who manned the Palace’s layered defences — among them the Ultimate Gate and the approaches to the Sanctum Imperialis — alongside Rogal Dorn’s Imperial Fists and the Sisters of Silence. Custodian Guards of this period fought in Terran and Contemptor-pattern war-plate as those defences were contested in turn, and Malacque’s association with the siege is consistent with, rather than distinct from, this broader record of the Custodian companies.

Malacque’s standing in the current era is unrecorded: no account of his death, survival, or subsequent service has been preserved beyond his attestation to the siege. His significance rests chiefly on that binding to the defence of Terra during the siege of 014.M31, a conflict whose central contemporaries — the Legio Custodes, the loyalist Legiones Astartes, and the Emperor himself — frame the brief record that survives of him.
